Unsulbar News, Majene. Program studi (Prodi) Akuakultur, Universitas Sulawesi barat (Unsulbar) adakan praktek lapangan, bertempat di Pantai Dato’, Majene, Sabtu (15/12/2018).
Praktik ini diikuti oleh puluhan mahasiswa angkatan 2017 bersama Muhammad Syukri S Kel M Si, Muhammad Ansar, S pi M si dan Andi Muhammad Arham, S kel M Si, selaku dosen pendamping sekaligus pengampu mata kuliah Biologi laut dan Avertebrata air. Berbagai kegiatan dilakukan, mulai dari pengambilan sampel, mengidentifikasi organisme yang hidup di perairan Pantai Dato’. Serta pelepasan kembali biota yang telah di identifikasi ke habitat aslinya.
Kepada Unsulbar News, Muhammad Syukri selaku Ketua koordinator mengatakan, dengan adanya praktikum ini mahasiswa dapat mengetahui secara mendalam mengenai konsep teori yang di terima dalam ruang perkuliahan dengan kenyataan yang ada di alam. Selain itu, mahasiswa dapat melihat secara langsung bagaimana bentuk atau morfologi, habitat dan bagaimana fungsi beberapa organisme yang ditemukan serta memahami aspek-aspek biologis dan ekologis perairan sumberdaya hayati laut yang sangat melimpah dan penting untuk dijaga kelestariannya.
Lebih lanjut, diharapkan kepekaan dan cinta akan kelestarian sumberdaya hayati laut dan berupaya melakukan kegiatan yang sadar lingkungan serta mencegah hal-hal yang dapat mengganggu atau merusak kestabilan ekosistem yang ada di laut.
